HomeFront is partnering with Checker Yellow Cabs to launch the second annual My HomeFront campaign to end domestic violence.

 

What does it all mean?

In the midst of a recent increase in the rates of domestic violence in Calgary, HomeFront is launching the second annual My HomeFront campaign in partnership with Checker Cabs to raise awareness about this critical issue.

The campaign, which received widespread reach and attention last year, will blanket the city with logos visible on over 800 taxis for the duration of the summer months.

This year’s campaign features a new logo of a heart created by adjoining hands – symbolizing a community coming together. Calgary is a city with a big heart, and by uniting we will inspire change and take action to end domestic violence.

Love isn’t just a feeling; it’s an action. Together we can send a powerful message to those impacted by domestic violence that they are surrounded by a community that cares.

How can YOU get involved?

Get Help – Are you or someone you know struggling with domestic violence? If the danger is immediate, call 911. HomeFront encourages people to reach out to the police – HomeFront exists as the “what next?” after people have been in contact with the police. If you are not comfortable reaching out to police, check out the Get Help page on our site, which has a number of safe, confidential and inclusive resources in the city where you can access support.

Snap A Pic – We encourage Calgarians to snap a pic when they see a decal on a yellow cab and post it to social media with the tag, #myhomefront. Together, we can stand united, show our big heart and support to those faced with domestic violence.

Donate – As a non-profit, HomeFront relies on community donations to continue to provide support to individuals faced with domestic violence. If you are interested in supporting HomeFront, you can donate here.
