The Domestic Conflict Response Team (DCRT) is a unique collaboration with the Calgary Police Service and Child and Family Services that provides a timely and effective outreach response for people dealing with repeat incidents of domestic conflict. Generally in these cases, calls have been made to police, but no charges have been laid.
These specialized team are made up of a police officer and a domestic violence caseworker. Together, they work with families in their homes to provide intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, support and referrals in order to interrupt the cycle of violence at its early stages. Through a holistic and compassionate approach, the DCRT works to ensure families are empowered to move their lives into a positive and healthy direction.
