HomeFront launches, “Cool It, Calgary!”

Over the past several months, domestic violence has been a central topic in Calgary, with homicides and tragic events occurring at an increased rate. Now more than ever, we need to recognize that domestic violence is an issue that impacts all of us, and it’s going to take everyone working together to find an end.

“Domestic violence has no boundaries” – this is something we’ve talked about at HomeFront since our inception, and now we have a heat map to be able to visually represent this fact, and show that domestic violence impacts every quadrant of our city. These are real people affected; your neighbours, acquaintances, colleagues, friends and family.

This heat map, based on data points collected by HomeFront, shows that domestic violence is everywhere in Calgary. It also shows that HomeFront is everywhere. Every day we support Calgarians who are living with domestic violence and ensure they are safe.

On Tuesday, HomeFront released this heat map and launched our, “Cool It, Calgary” campaign. We are very pleased with all the responses and hope this continues to fuel conversations and discussions about domestic violence; and helps identify how we can each play a role in ending this complex issue.

Everyone is impacted by domestic violence, and everyone needs to be involved in ending it. Be a catalyst for change and make a donation today to COOL It, Calgary! Please visit www.homefrontcalgary.com/coolit for more information and to make a donation. Thank you.
