On June 17, Holt Renfrew hosted a Stampede-themed charity shopping event in support of HomeFront Calgary. Just in time to pick up the perfect Father’s Day present or update your summer wardrobe, it was a great day to shop in support of a good cause. Ten percent of sales were donated to HomeFront to support families impacted by domestic violence, totaling $20,000!

HomeFront is so appreciative of the incredible generosity of Holt Renfrew and their team, who gave a tremendous amount of time and effort to plan the charity shopping event and support the work of HomeFront.

This fun-filled Stampede event included complimentary gifts with purchase, denim embroidery and patches, upbeat country tunes being played all day long by DJ Jay, midway snacks, and a contest to win a $5000 shopping spree!

One of the most popular attractions was the Glamour Stampede Watercolour Portraits by artist Racheal Meckling. Many shoppers sat to have their portraits painted – and some even brought along their furry friends! Additionally, Rachael donated 30% of print and original watercolour sales to HomeFront.

Over the past year, COVID-19 restrictions and stay at home orders have posed a huge risk for the safety and security of victims of domestic violence in regard to how they seek support. Many have opted to stay in abusive situations due to COVID-19. As restrictions lift, the number of victims looking to leave abusive relationships may rise. HomeFront is anticipating an increase in reports of domestic violence and is prepared to support these individuals.

This generous donation from Holt Renfrew helps to ensure we can continue our work in supporting families to be safe and break the cycle of domestic violence. Thank you, Holt Renfrew, and everyone who came out to shop in support of HomeFront!
