Oki, Tansi, Danit’ada, Aba-wath-tech, Paarutit, Hello! June is National Indigenous History Month, and next week, from June 19 – 25 is Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary (AAWC) as well as National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21. 

HomeFront’s Safety of Indigenous Women in Urban Settings Project Coordinator and Indigenous Case Manager, Holly, put together a list of amazing events, books and resources to share as we take the time to learn, acknowledge, honour and celebrate the rich heritage and diversity of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.  

That is a short list for getting you started on coming together with all our relations on turtle island and how we can support as settlers in Treaty 7 and Metis Region 3.
