We acknowledge that we are residing on Treaty 7 Territory, which includes the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations), and home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. The land on which I work from, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River is named “Moh’kins’tsis” (in Blackfoot translation meaning “Elbow”) which we now know as the City of Calgary. We honour and respect the importance of land to the traditional people of this territory, and are committed to learning about our shared history and act in accordance to build a better future for all.
