Legal, health and counselling supports are sometimes unattainable for the people we serve because of financial barriers. Today, HomeFront is empowered to eliminate those barriers because of Franny’s Fund.
Calgary defence lawyer Rebecca Snukal Q.C. and mother of two children is the founder of Franny’s Fund and the lead organizer of its inaugural fundraising event — a Sept. 24 gala at The Nash restaurant to raise specialized funding that will benefit HomeFront and Luna Centre.
Created in 2021, Franny’s Fund (named after Rebecca’s mom), is meant to financially help families and children in need of an urgent response, who are unable to access critical resources such as legal counsel and counselling services.
After a difficult personal experience where Rebecca was involved with both Homefront and the Luna Centre (formally known as Calgary Area Child Advocacy Centre), she was struck with how difficult it would be for someone with less experience, less knowledge of the system, and less financial resources, to navigate the system.
The world is full of complex issues that require everyone to do their part to create change. Rebecca is a shining example of someone who identified a gap and is doing something to make a difference for victims and families impacted by domestic violence. HomeFront is honoured to be one of the trusted recipients of Franny’s Fund, ensuring parents and families who need specialized help, receive it.
Please join us for Franny’s Fund’s inaugural fundraising event starting at 7pm at The Nash on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Thanks to the generosity of the event sponsors who are covering all event expenses, 100% of every single ticket sale will benefit the fund. Come enjoy a nice evening out while making a difference.
